Croydon Business Awards finalists announced

09 April 2014

Some of Croydon’s best businesses have been shortlisted in this year’s Croydon Business Awards in association with Handelsbanken. The awards are organised by Prospects Business Support, part of the Prospects Group, the education, employment and training organisation.

This year nearly 100 organisations entered the Croydon Business Awards and 43 have been selected as finalists. Shortlisted businesses will be invited to a judging day for face-to-face interviews with industry experts. After the interviews, the judges will form a panel to decide the winners, which will be announced at the gala dinner and awards ceremony held at Fairfield Halls, on 15 May 2014.

Rose Saunders, Head of Prospects Business Support, said: “Croydon is one of the biggest business districts outside central London so shortlisting was difficult because the calibre of entries into the Croydon Business Awards was high. However we’ve selected organisations which are leading the way in Croydon and beyond. I wish the shortlisted companies all the best as they go onto the judging day and I am looking forward to seeing them at the gala dinner and award ceremony where they could be announced as Croydon’s Business of the Year. As well as the excitement of the award announcements, the gala dinner is an opportunity for companies to network and raise their profile.”

The 11 Croydon Business Awards categories drew applications from a variety of businesses operating in various industries across Croydon. Some of the shortlisted companies include Hampton by Hilton London Croydon, Cleankill Environmental Services, McCarthy Cars (UK) Ltd and Jury’s Inn Croydon. Crystal Palace Football Club (FC) has been shortlisted in two categories.

Sharon Lacey, Marketing Manager of Crystal Palace FC said: “It’s been a good year for us so far, winning a Croydon Business Award would be the icing on the cake. We believe we provide first class hospitality in our newly refurbished lounges and at Speroni's Restaurant while fans enjoy watching games at Selhurst Park – one of the top leisure activities in Croydon.”

The winners of each category will be announced at the gala dinner and awards ceremony held at the Fairfield Halls, on 15 May 2014.To book your table visit: http://www.prospectsbusinessawards.co.uk/BusinessAwards/Croydon/GalaDinner.aspx

Other sponsors of the awards include Croydon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Croydon Council, Fairfield Halls, Federation of Small Businesses, Jurys inn, Owadally & King Chartered Accountants, Veolia Environmental Services and Wing Yip.
