Before Prospects
51 year old Jane* hadn’t been in work for over 20 years, and had no idea what a CV was before she received support and guidance from the National Careers Service.
What Prospects did
“I had not worked for 20 years because of a long-term illness and I had no idea about how to find work and improve my quality of life,” explains Jane. “I had no idea what a CV was, I did not know where to go to search for jobs, and I had no experience or confidence in filling out job applications or attending interviews,” she adds.
Outcomes and results
“After contacting the National Careers Service I was set up with a personal adviser who taught me how to use online job searches and we worked on creating my CV so I could finally apply for jobs and attend interviews” says Jane. “I have since gained interview skills and techniques and I now know how to present myself when meeting potential employers. Before I came to the National Careers Service I had no self-confidence yet now I have, and I really believe I can do anything I put my mind to.”
