Leicestershire exam results are in, what next?
Thursday, August 13, 2015
Exam results day can be nerve-wracking. You may have brilliant results, or they may be a complete disaster, or more likely, somewhere between the two.
Whether your results were better or worse than you anticipated, you may now be thinking about changing the plans you made for your future. If you are, a great place to get help is Prospects, the education, employment and training company, working for Leicestershire County Council. Prospects offers free impartial advice and support to help you take your next step.
If you’ve reached 18 and just received your A level results your options include finding an apprenticeship, work based learning opportunity, a job or going to university. You can talk to Prospects or your school or college to help you look into Clearing and Adjustment if your A level results are different from your predicted grades and you have applied for University or want to now apply. But not all students receiving their A level results want to go on to University, so talking to Prospects might help you look at alterative options.
We will help you do what is best for you, if you’ve changed your mind about your plans we’ll work with you to make sure you understand all the options now open to you. If you never really had a plan we can help you consider the best route. We will help you plan your future whatever your results and support you to make the best decisions.
The ability to carry on and be adaptable when life doesn’t go your way is a quality that many employers and universities value in future recruits.
Sue Tombs from Prospects said: “Young people around the country are now making decisions that will impact on the rest of their lives. Prospects wants to help those who are uncertain about their future to choose wisely. In Leicestershire our experts are here to provide support and impartial advice to help young people make the best decision for their future. Contact them today to see how they can help.”
If you are 16- 19 years old and would like some advice, guidance or information you can meet a Prospects adviser at our Hinckley centre (51 Castle Street, Hinckley, LE10 1DA or call 01455 632719) or our Loughborough centre (7 Fennel Street, Loughborough, LE11 1UQ or call 01509 214002). We can also see you at one of a range of community venues across the county if Loughborough or Hinckley are not convenient for you.
